Congratulations on your new granite countertops! Below you will find our recommendations for cleaning and maintenance. Please contact us at 435-8686 and we will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

DAILY CLEANING

• Use mild soap and water, or a neutral cleaner made specifically for natural stone.
• Clean up spills promptly. All natural stone is porous to some degree, and is therefore not stain proof. Oils and acids are particularly damaging to stone surfaces, so make sure to wipe up cooking oils, citrus drinks, alcohol, etc.
  

THINGS TO AVOID

• Do not use products that are highly alkaline, acidic, ammoniated, or contain bleach or abrasive agents. These materials may degrade the sealer, and abrasive products may be harmful to the diamond polished surface.
  

ROUTINE CLEANING

• Clean with Stone Tech Revitalizer (Cleaner and Protector)
  (available for purchase at Urban Granite Ltd.)
  

SEALING

• Natural stone surfaces must be sealed to prevent and minimize staining.
• You will need to reseal your countertops approx. every 3 – 5 years, and we recommend using Stone Tech Heavy Duty sealer (available for purchase at Urban Granite). When liquids quickly absorb into the stone rather than beading on top, it is time to reseal. Please contact us for how-to information on resealing.
